Unlock the Magic: Insider Tips for a Seamless Disney World Experience!

Now that you have tickets to go to Disney World and made your park reservations, you are on your way.

Some things to consider while you are packing. It is Florida and you might end up in a rain storm or two, so I suggest bringing some type of rain gear like a poncho. It still stays hot so you are not going to want something thick like a frog tog. You can also use the poncho for some of the wet rides to not get drenched.

Upon arrival, each park has a parking fee that is good for all parks. It’s the same price whether you go to one park or multiple parks that day. They have standard parking and preferred parking which has its own rates.

You can bring in your own drinks and food. You just need to inform the staff. Please keep in mind that it should be cold food that you can just eat on the go without a microwave or utensils.

Be sure to download the Disney World app onto your phone. You can choose to connect a credit card to the app or you can just pay as you go in person. You can use the app for your tickets, purchase magic bands, or connect it to your Apple watch.

The free way is to scan the bar code from the app at the entrance of the park and then they will give you a key card that you use the rest of the time you are at Disney World.

On each day prior to arrival, you can choose to purchase Disney Genie Plus. It helps to be able to skip the line by booking a time to board. You can also purchase the photo pass and connect it to your app so any pictures that are taken by Disney staff will automatically go into your photo album. The alternative to the photo pass would be to just take pictures on your own with a selfie stick, your arm, and your phone/camera.

When you arrive at any of the worlds, you will go through a metal detector. They will check backpacks but for small purses, if you take out anything that is metal and hold it in front of you like a zombie, you may not need to go to bag check. What I did was on the first day, I went to bag check and asked which items alarmed the detector and from that day forth I made sure to have those items out and walk like a zombie through the metal detectors. No more bag check lines for me.
