Which Universal Park Should I Go To First?

When it comes to Universal Studios Florida, this is totally a matter of preference. We didn’t really have an idea of what each park had to offer so we started with Universal Studios since we had an idea of what it can be like since we’ve gone to Universal Studios in California.

Then for our second day, we decided to go to the Island of Adventure.

Boy are we glad we did!

By starting out with what we knew made the day easy to plan. Plus, we liked the rides at Island of Adventure more than Universal Studios so it was a good end to our vacation.

When it comes to Island of Adventure, they do have some thrill rides that have minimum height requirements so be sure to take a closer look during your planning stages.

You can use the child swap so all the people who do meet the height requirements can go on the ride with only 1 person waiting in line.

The way it works is you have one person wait in line and ask for child swap. Then the other person would wait in the child swap area and once the person has completed the ride, when you exit, you just tell the worker who is your child swap person and they go directly to the ride. It shortens your wait time.

There are different strategies you can use. One way to plan is to do the rides you like first. Or go in the order of the map. Or go by the wait times on the app.

The lockers here are free for small items. Bigger backpacks will need a paid locker.

The rides that need a locker are the Hulk, Velocicoaster, Fear Fall, Hagrid’s Motorcycles, and Harry Potter Journey.

You will get wet on the water rides.

Be prepared to get drenched or wear ponchos.

Click here for a link to purchase some lightweight ponchos so it's easy to pack and you don't have to worry about bringing them back or choose to use them on various family adventures.

In Toon Lagoon, they do have human dryers for a small fee.

They have little children's rides too like the pterodactyl ride.

If you are not accompanying a child they will turn you away. That way the little ones can have fun since they are too small for the big kid rides.

Planning your visit to Universal Studios can be a lot of fun, but it’s even better when you’re prepared and know what to expect. Whether you start at Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure, having a game plan makes the day less stressful and more enjoyable for the whole family.
