How To Stay Fit: 6 Exercises Families Can Do With Household Items ~ Week 5
Even though the world is back to the hustle and bustle. We decided as a family to continue our new regimen and learn from our past to slow down and appreciate one another. To stay connected with each other and continue to exercise as a family.
Let us continue using household items with our exercises. You can also choose to continue with body weight and not use household items. You can do 1 set or 2 to 3 sets. Some families have also opted to do these exercises throughout the day. One set mid-morning, one set mid-afternoon, and one set at night. The beauty of these exercises is you can do them anywhere at your own leisure.
- 10 Jumping jacks
Directions: Start with feet together. Jump feet apart about shoulder width and clap your hands above your head at the same time. Then jump into attention by bringing your feet back together and bringing your hands down.
- 10 Biceps Curls With Household Item
Directions: Start standing with feet shoulder-width apart. Your arms are by your side holding the household item. Then bend one arm and bring your hand to your shoulder. Then switch arms by bringing the bent arm down and the straight arm up to your shoulder. Keep switching arms.
- 10 Side Arm Raises With Household Item
Directions: Start standing with your feet shoulder-width apart. Your arms are by your side holding the household item. Keep your arms straight and raise your right arm up to the side of your body so your hand is at the same level as your shoulder. Then lower the arm and raise the left arm to shoulder height. Keep switching arms.
- 10 Front Arm Raises With Household Item
Directions: Start standing with your feet shoulder-width apart. Your arms are by your side holding the household item. Keep your arms straight and raise your right arm up in front of you so your hand is at the same level as your shoulder. Then lower the arm and raise the left arm to shoulder height. Keep switching arms.
- 10 Tricep Extension With Household Item
Directions: Start standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent. Keep your back straight and your core firm. Your arms are bent and your hands are at your shoulders holding the household item. Then extend your arms by straightening your arms and bringing your arms behind you slightly about 10 degrees. Once straight, bend your arm back to your starting position and extend again.
- 10 Squat Jumps With Household Item
Directions: Start standing with feet about shoulder width apart. Put hands in front near the chest area while holding a household item and squat down like you are going to sit onto a chair. Once you can not go any lower, jump as high as you can.
